Franklin Scholarships - Kip McGrath
Sydney, Australia. February 1, 2010 Franklin Electronic Publishers today announced the Franklin Scholarships program for 2010 in Australia and New Zealand.
Now into its sixth year, Franklin Scholarships will be awarded through MS Readathon in Australia and the New Zealand National Spelling Bee in New Zealand. Each recipient receives 12 months free tuition at any Kip McGrath Education Centre.
Franklin Scholarships are being provided as part of an overall commitment to improving literacy outcomes for all young people. It complements Franklin's support for National Literacy & Numeracy Week (NLNW), MS Readathon, The Premier's Spelling Bee, Spellmasters and the New Zealand National Spelling Bee.
"Children today have to be smarter than we ever were and nurtured as they learn. Franklin Scholarships will empower kids with knowledge, self-esteem and perspective," commented Russell Goldberg, Managing Director of Franklin Electronic Publishers (Aust.) P/L.
Kip McGrath Education Centres ( www.kipmcgrath.com ) are using Franklin products to improve word power and confidence in their students. In the UK and USA, they are used in classrooms at over 50,000 schools.
The MS Readathon is a valuable tool in developing literacy skills in children while serving a valuable community purpose of helping to unlock the mysteries of MS and providing support services for people with MS.
The New Zealand National Spelling Bee is open to all New Zealand year 9 students and is designed to help children improve their spelling, increase vocabularies, develop correct English usage and learn concepts that will help them right through their lives.
NLNW is an Australian Government initiative run in collaboration with States and Territories.
The Premier's Spelling Bee is proudly presented by the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Premier's Department.
