Franklin Sponsors OzCLO - Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad

Sydney, Australia. October 2, 2009 Franklin Electronic Publishers (NYSE AMEX Equities US:FEP) announced its sponsorship of OzCLO, the Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad.

OzCLO challenges school teams from years 9 to 12 to create their own strategies for solving problems. Students develop an understanding of the richness, diversity and systematicity of language, while exercising their logic and reasoning skills.

State rounds are held at Australia's major universities with a deciding national event to select Australia's team to compete overseas in an International Linguistics Olympiad.

Franklin's sponsorship is being provided as part of an overall commitment to improving literacy outcomes for all young people. It complements Franklin's support in Australia for National Literacy & Numeracy Week (NLNW), MS Readathon, The Premier's Spelling Bee, Spellmasters and Franklin Scholarships.

NLNW is a collaborative initiative of the Australian Government conducted jointly with State and Territory Governments.

The Premier's Spelling Bee is proudly presented by the NSW Department of Education and Training and the Premier's Department.
